AI Readiness Audit
An AI implementation roadmap based on the actual state of your company's processes, data, and team capabilities.
One to three days of on-site work. From EUR 750 net. Report plus a board presentation.
Why an audit
An investment plan, not a readiness score
AI adoption at a manufacturing company rarely fails because of the technology itself. It most often fails because the first investment decision was made based on a demo, rather than on a rigorous assessment of exactly where in the company AI will deliver the fastest return.
The AI Readiness Audit solves this problem. One to three days of work at the client's premises, plus the preparation of a report, result in a document containing a concrete roadmap: which area of the company is worth automating first, what the estimated return will be, and in what sequence to roll out subsequent projects. Instead of a general assessment of whether the company is ready for AI, you receive an investment plan matched to your organization's realities.
Scope
Five areas of assessment
The audit analyzes the company across five complementary areas that together form the basis of the investment recommendation.
- 01
Processes
Which processes in the company are documented, repeatable, and ready for automation. Which require restructuring in parallel with implementation. Identification of the processes with the highest optimization potential.
- 02
Data
Where the company's data resides: in the ERP system, spreadsheets, e-mails, paper documentation. What condition it is in with respect to accessibility and structure. Which data sets require restructuring as a precondition for AI implementations.
- 03
Team competence
Who in the company has the aptitude for the role of process guide or independent solution builder. Where the competence gaps requiring external support lie.
- 04
Use case map
Five to ten concrete AI implementation ideas for the company, each assessed for feasibility. The list results from interviews, observation, and a workshop with the team — not from a generic catalog.
- 05
ROI estimate
The estimated return on investment for the two or three highest-priority use cases. Concrete figures: hours of work saved per month, error reduction, new service capabilities.
Process
Three scale variants
The audit is delivered in three variants, depending on the size of the company and the number of priority departments. The variant is agreed before the start, during the 30-min consultation.
Small scale
1 day on-site
For companies of 30 to 80 employees with one or two priority departments and a simple IT structure. An 8-to-10-page PDF report. Price: from EUR 750 net.
Medium scale
2 days on-site
For companies of 80 to 250 employees with two to three priority departments and a moderately complex IT structure. A 10-to-12-page PDF report. Price: from EUR 985 net.
Large scale
3 days on-site
For companies of 250 to 500 employees with three to five priority departments and a complex IT structure. A 12-to-14-page PDF report. Price: from EUR 1,310 net.
A live report presentation for the management board (2 hours) takes place at a time agreed after the PDF report is delivered, typically 7 to 14 days after the on-site work is complete. A common element across all variants.
What remains
What remains after the audit
A final report in PDF format (8 to 14 pages depending on the scale variant) plus a live presentation for the management board.
- 01
Executive summary
One page with the key findings and a recommendation for the next step. Material for quick review by board members.
- 02
Assessment of the five areas
One to two pages per area. Concrete observations from the interviews and workshop, not a generic assessment framework.
- 03
Implementation roadmap
A sequence of concrete projects to deliver over a 6-to-12-month horizon. The first step with its rationale, the second and third as a natural continuation.
- 04
ROI estimate
The estimated return for the two or three highest-priority use cases. Concrete figures: hourly savings, error reduction, additional revenue.
- 05
Areas for parallel work
Processes or data requiring restructuring in parallel with the AI implementations. Concrete guidance on what can be done in-house.
Fit
When the AI Readiness Audit makes sense
The audit is a natural first step for manufacturing companies ahead of their first AI investment decision.
No prior AI implementations
The first formal AI initiative at the company. The audit provides an organized start instead of trial and error with random tools.
A prior attempt fell short of expectations
An implementation with another vendor didn't deliver results. The audit identifies the causes and points to areas with genuine potential, bypassing dead ends.
Board decision for a systematic approach
Earlier initiatives were scattered. The audit organizes the picture and provides a shared roadmap for the whole company.
Planning a Dig.IT grant application
The audit report serves as the natural strategic documentation for a Dig.IT application: it defines exactly what the funds will be used for, in what sequence, and with what expected effect. The audit falls within the program's eligible expenses.
Price and terms
Payment after the report presentation
From EUR 750 net for the complete audit package, with the price depending on the company's scale variant. Small scale from EUR 750 net, medium from EUR 985 net, large from EUR 1,310 net.
100% of payment is due after the report presentation. The client sees the report and receives the presentation before payment. In practice, this means you pay for documented value, not a promise.
Included in the price: the consultant's work at the client's premises, preparation and presentation of the report, post-audit consultations by e-mail for 14 days. Not included: implementation work on the solutions recommended in the roadmap (a separate package) and preparation of the grant application.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the audit report suitable as strategic material for a Dig.IT application?
Yes. The report contains a documented diagnosis of the starting point, a map of recommended implementations, and an ROI estimate — elements that form a natural basis for the application's substantive argumentation. The application itself is prepared by the client, possibly with the help of a grant advisor.
Are all the report's conclusions binding for the client?
No. The report is a recommendation, not an obligation. The client independently decides which elements of the roadmap to implement, in what order, and at what pace. The roadmap remains valid even if implementation is spread over 18 to 24 months.
What if the company turns out not to be ready for AI?
The audit does not categorize companies as ready or not ready. Every manufacturing company has areas at different levels of readiness. The report shows which areas to address first and which elements to restructure in parallel.
Will the consultant sign a non-disclosure agreement?
Yes. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is standard before the audit begins. All data and information obtained during the audit remain the client's exclusive property and are not used in other projects.
How is the audit's scale variant and the on-site schedule determined?
The scale variant (small, medium, large) is determined during the 30-min consultation or in offer correspondence, before the agreement is signed. The on-site days may be delivered consecutively or spread over 1 to 2 weeks. Work on the report is carried out after the on-site visits are complete; the presentation date is agreed individually with the management board.
